MRS. MAIMOUNA INITIATIVE

She is Mrs. Maimunah bint Al-Harith bin Hazn Al-Hilaliyya, the Mother of the Believers and the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. She was of high lineage and was the aunt of Khalid bin Al-Walid and Abdullah bin Abbas. The Mother of the Believers devoted herself to worship and prayer in the Prophet’s house and began to be guided by the guidance of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.  Maimuna, may God be pleased with her, lived her life after the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, spreading the Sunnah of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, among the companions and followers. Because she was among those who studied the noble hadith and taught it on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, she was strongly committed to the prophetic guidance and the qualities of Muhammad, including memorizing the noble prophetic. The Mother of the Believers, Maymunah, may God be pleased with her, was one of the many narrators of the noble Prophet’s hadith and memorizers of it, as she narrated seventy-six hadiths on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

Following the example of this scholarly woman, the initiative was named after her, as the endowment is concerned with creating distinguished female icons who take leadership in humanitarian work that benefits and develops society.
