The harsh conditions of war have caused widespread destruction to water networks, halted desalination plants, and led to a severe shortage of the fuel needed to operate them. Consequently, obtaining clean water in Gaza has become a daily, exhausting challenge. Mothers and fathers walk long distances and stand in lines for hours under extreme conditions, hoping to get a little water. Often, they return empty-handed, unable to quench their children's thirst.
Children: The Silent Victims of the Thirst Crisis
As the crisis persists and worsens, children bear the heaviest and harshest part of this suffering. In addition to being deprived of their most basic rights and needs, they are now forced to participate in the daily search for water. Instead of carrying their school backpacks, they carry heavy plastic gallons that exceed their physical capacity to secure their families' needs, exposing them to severe exhaustion and danger.
