Visit of the Hürrem Sultan Foundation and the Qatari Delegation to Turkey’s City

The Hürrem Sultan Foundation and its guest, the Qatari Delegation, made a humanitarian visit to the city of Urfa in Turkey at the beginning of January as part of the launch of the Qur’an Memorization Program for Syrian refugee children.

During the visit, in addition to official meetings with local authorities, a ceremony was held with the participation of Urfa residents and all the children participating in the Memorization Program as well as the people of Urfa, officially launching the Qur’an Memorization Program.

Official Visits Reflected Cooperation Between Qatar and Turkey

The Hürrem Sultan Foundation and its guest, the Qatari Delegation, made various official visits to discuss ways of cooperation with local authorities to support the social and humanitarian projects we aim to initiate in Turkey’s city of Urfa. The Foundation had the opportunity to visit the Deputy Governor of Urfa, Mr. Onur Şatıroğlu, and the Mayor of Urfa, Mr. Mehmet Canpolat, while being hosted during the three-day trip by the Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party’s Urfa Provincial Branch, Mr. Mehmet Kırboğa.

The visits were warmly welcomed by local authorities, reflecting productive cooperation between Qatar and Turkey, while pledges were made to collaborate on initiating humanitarian aid projects and activities in Urfa.

Visits to Qur’an Memorization Program Centers

In a significant step carrying the goodness and hope of supporting a generation committed to their faith, memorizing Allah’s book, and continuing on the path of its teachings, the Hürrem Sultan Foundation and its guest, the Qatari Delegation, visited the Qur’an Memorization Centers supervised and financially supported by the Foundation. During these visits, the opening of 36 Qur’an Memorization Programs took place with the participation of 360 boys and girls. This provided children with a safe learning environment embracing their energy and creativity and developing their personalities.

Qur’an Memorization Program Launch Ceremony

In an atmosphere full of joy and hope, a launch ceremony for the Qur’an Memorization Programs for Syrian refugee children was held in Urfa. Representing a tangible example of the impact of goodness and support toward this group, the ceremony was attended by 360 boys and girls alongside their teachers overseeing these programs.

The event showcased the children’s Qur’an reading skills and their literary eloquence through the various passages they presented. With significant participation from the people of Urfa, the event proved that hope remains alive and that cooperation between institutions and individuals strengthens and enhances the ability of future generations to face challenges.
